Exhibition “Printmaking and its Techniques”
The educational exhibition “Printmaking and its Techniques” is mainly aimed at schoolchildren. It attempts to familiarise children with printmaking techniques, through explanatory texts and photographs that describe the process in great detail. The main exhibition sections are centred around aquatint, woodcut and lithography.

The exhibition is mainly aimed at schoolchildren. The goal is for them to become familiar with the challenging printmaking techniques through materials, tools, plates and prints.

Printmaking up close
The exhibition features prints from the Alpha Bank Art Collection, tools and printmaking plates in 3 special rooms.
Explanatory texts and photographs describe in great detail the process followed to create and reproduce a print.
A long night at the museum
“Printmaking and its Techniques” is the 1st exhibition with which the Art Collection participates in the European Night of Museums. One specific night every May, most museums in the world remain open until midnight. The European Night of Museums is a global event by ICOM (International Council of Museums).
A film about printmaking
The film “Printmaking” is screened in a special hall, on the sidelines of the exhibition. It was produced by the Athens School of Fine Arts. It presents the stages in the creation of a print inside a printmaking workshop.
Educational games
A special, educational computer game illustrates the creation of a print with the use of a touch screen. Visitors are able to appreciate their selected printing technique, through its different stages and representations.
Accompanying publications
The exhibition “Printmaking and its Techniques” is accompanied by a publication with brief explanatory texts on printmaking.
