Coin-o-rama: an interactive exhibit at the Banknote Museum in Corfu

Alpha Bank is offering an upgraded touring experience at the Banknote Museum in Corfu, with Coin-o-rama, the interactive exhibit created by the Bank’s Numismatic Collection in partnership with the Institute of Informatics of the Institute of Technology and Research, for the display of digital exhibitions.

The digital exhibition presented through Coin-o-rama includes a panorama of coins of the modern Greek State from 1828 to nowadays, such as the phoenix, drachma and euro.

Museum visitors can learn the entire numismatic history of modern Greece. In the museum’s permanent exhibition on the 1st floor, they can view all the Greek banknotes, while through the Coin-o-rama exhibit on the 2nd floor, they can see the coins in enlarged images, read a brief history and find detailed information for each one of them. They can also “mint” their own coins, meaning a coin photo with their own portrait, as a souvenir of their visit to the museum.

All coins presented in the permanent exhibition and through Coin-o-rama belong to the Alpha Bank Numismatic Collection.
